Dieses Hotel ist ein Herrenhaus aus dem frühen 18. Jahrhundert, 1702 vom spanischen Architekten José Jaime Ortiz im historischen Viertel von Quito erbaut. Es wurde sorgfältig restauriert, wobei seine ursprüngliche koloniale Aufteilung, Holzdielen und Balken erhalten blieben, und beherbergt eine umfangreiche Sammlung von Kunst und Antiquitäten.
