Die Ursprünge dieser ehemaligen Plantagen-Farm, welche mehr als nur eine schaurige Geschichte zu erzählen hat, reichen zurück bis 1796. Der bekannteste Geist des Anwesens ist der der ehemaligen Sklavin Chloe, welche im 19. Jahrhundert eine Dienerin des Hauses war. Auch in Fotos, welche auf dem Grundstück aufgenommen wurden, kann man teilweise Geister erkennen. Das Hotel wurde vom National Geographic Explorer zum "Verspuktesten Haus des Südens" ernannt.
