Schlosshotel

Das Schloss und das umliegende Land stammen aus dem 18. Jahrhundert. Jahrhundert zurück. Das Anwesen wechselte mehrfach den Besitzer, bevor es Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts von George Murray erworben wurde, der das Schloss in Mansfield umbenannte. Die turbulente Geschichte und der Besitzerwechsel nahmen jedoch kein Ende, denn das Schloss wurde immer wieder verkauft, bis die Familie Fowler in den Besitz des Schlosses gelangte und es zu Beginn des 20. Während des Zweiten Weltkriegs wurde das Schloss vom Militär genutzt, und nach dem Krieg wurde es in ein Hotel umgewandelt, wobei es im Laufe der Jahre immer wieder den Besitzer wechselte.

Das Mansfield Castle Hotel wurde ursprünglich im 18. Jahrhundert erbaut und hatte seitdem eine eher turbulente Geschichte, denn es wurde ständig weiterverkauft und wechselte somit oft den Besitzer. Eine der Familien, die etwas länger im Besitz den Anwesens war, trug den Namen Fowler. Sie besaßen das Schloss von 1890 bis zum Zweiten Weltkrieg. Herr Fowler verstarb 1930 und seine Frau im Jahre 1938. Beide starben in der Burg. Man sagt, dass ihre Geister immer noch in den Fluren und Sälen der Burg umherwandern, weil sie sich immer noch um das Anwesen kümmern.
